Nearly Finished

I swore I wouldn't do this again but I am mainly posting this so the client can take a look at the painting before I take it to her. I wanted to just post the finished painting (which this may very well be) but to be sure I need to let her see it, and if there are any changes I am hoping they are minute.

Fingers crossed!

Uncle Sam: World Beat Cop

So this was my reaction when I saw the headlines that we were "engaged in a support effort" with the U.N. to enforce a No-Fly Zone...

Seriously, when do our fighting men and women get a break?

Victory in Defeat

Yet again, I have gone a week without posting a drawing. Again, it had to do with a crazy week at Ye Olde Day Jobbe. However, I have the next week off so I am hoping to make up for lost time once again. I have some new toys to play with and a couple of ideas percolating so here's to a fruitful week.

And just to show you the creative IS still flowing in the household, here is a photo of what Lady Paintmonkey and I spent the evening last night doing...

SUPER MOON!!! Enjoy, everybody!

Dinosaur Slights

I want to prove to people that not all of my cartoons are based on political rage. As any of my regular readers (Hi mom!) know, I am also a big fan of dinosaurs. My most recent submission to the wonderful publication of Prehistoric Times is this little cartoon about the recent discovery of a large sauropod in Utah.

I mean seriously, doesn't it seem a bit mean spirited?

More Behind The Scenes Action

So a high-pressure system moved into the area today leaving the Paintmonkey feeling as if a railroad spike were being driven into his head and sinuses. I can’t get together enough energy to finish up a regular drawing but I can show what happens when I’m sitting on the couch watching wrestling and reading dinosaur books with no sketchbook within reach (EASY reach anyways. I haven’t felt like moving much the last two days.).

But well within reach are old bill envelopes and a pen. So here we have a couple of dinosaurs, the Undertaker, and some sort of long haired person who may or may not be covering up some math I was doing earlier. (I can’t really remember.) Again, this sinus thing is murder right now.

I know it’s not much but I really do doodle stuff all the time but most of it is silly little nonsense that I throw down just to keep the practice up, even when I am REALLY not in the mood for much of anything else. But every now and then good ideas pop up out of these little throwaways.
